The internet is a messed up place. I thought I’d make a coffee ice cream with crumbled bacon candied with brown sugar and hot chile powder, AND bacon porter homebrew. So thought I’d see what insights I could garner from the pilgrims who have walked this path before. Lo and behold, no trouble finding either one.

My god. It’s a dark sunday morn, and I stumble across this!

I belive that food is wonderful and expirimental and nurturing. You’ve combined all my favorite foods into one… !

recently Vosges, a wonderful chocolate company, just put out a bacon chocolate bar-
you may now get it also in a little pig shape…

These kinds of things inspire me and make me enjoy life more! YEHAW!

DUDE~! This OFFICIALLY solidifies my idea that bacon tastes best when paired with something sweet!! This sounds so freaking good to me. I saw this on David’s blog too but haven’t had a chance to make it. Thanks for working out the kinks in the candied bacon part. I’ll just take your word for it and do it your way, yours looked all crispy and delicious! My fear, when reading David’s blog, was that I’d never get past the candied bacon part! I’d make the bacon, then eat it. Then make more, then eat it. There would never be any for ice cream!

So, do you think the coffee flavor is the best for this? I’m not too big on coffee ice cream, although I love coffee. I know, it doesn’t make sense. Anyway, I was thinking maybe a maple ice cream or even just a rich vanilla. I’m sure it’s ALL GOOD.

Baum-chicka-wah-wah…. Now I understand what food porn is. Sorry, I didn’t it make to the ice cream part… I kinda just lost it at “.. placed the bacon candied side down and sugared the second side..”.

I just recently made a batch of candied bacon thanks to Miss Edna Lewis & Scott Peacock. Devoured it with Southern Biscuits!

Hey – I made this two weeks ago and guess what I did? Instead of 3/4C sugar, I did 1/2C sugar and 1/4C maple flakes. So, it was a true breakfast ice cream: maple-bacon-coffee.

The friends I made it for responded with offers of multiple sexual favors, so you know, not a bad combo, I suppose.

Isn’t that bacon so so so so so so good? One more thing to love about David L.
